Mangaluru: A case has been registered at the Kadri police station against an employee of a mobile phone store at Janhvi Plaza in Bunts Hostel for allegedly stealing seven mobile phones worth Rs 2,36,510 and Rs 58,100 in cash from the shop.
The store manager Sandesh Shetty has named Mohammad Shiban as the accused in the complaint.
Shetty said that he had entrusted the complete responsibility of the store to Mohammad Shiban when he went on leave. He, however, had to cut short his leave due to Shiban’s poor management.
As the store was locked, Shetty sought permission from the company’s higher authorities to open it and found that the items inside were in disarray. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that seven mobile phones worth Rs 2,36,510 and Rs 58,100 in cash from the cash drawer were missing.
When Shiban was contacted, he admitted to taking the items and promised to return them. However, since he failed to do so, Sandesh Shetty has filed a complaint at the Kadri police station.
