Student organization of a college here has appealed to the principal and Puttur city police officials to dismiss a female student who allegedly made a false accusation against a fellow male student, claiming he stabbed her.
The organization has warned of a protest if the female student is not expelled.
Earlier on Tuesday, the female student had claimed that her college mate stabbed and injured her in the hand. However, when the police examined the CCTV footage they found that it did not support the claims made by the female student. It is suspected that the assault claims are fabricated.
Student Meeting
In response to the incident, students from various colleges in Puttur held a meeting, condemning the false accusation made by the female student. They insisted that the student responsible for defaming the male student by filing a fake complaint should be immediately expelled from the college. They also demanded appropriate action against those who have circulated the photo of the student, falsely implicated in the case, on social media as a form of intimidation.
