Bengaluru: In the midst of rising tensions between the government and opposition parties over various scandals, the Congress party has once again accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to destabilize the state government through “Operation Kamala.”

The Congress has alleged that BJP leaders from Delhi, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, are behind this effort.

Speaking at his residence on Sunday, Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa stated, “It is true that BJP leaders are offering inducements to our MLAs. This is not a new tactic; BJP and JD(S) have a history of such actions. They neither respect democracy nor the Constitution, and they do not honor the people of the country. They tried ‘Operation Kamala’ twice before, but they failed. Now, they are attempting it again.”

Sharanprakash Patil’s Statement: In Kalaburagi, Minister Dr. Sharanprakash Patil claimed that a Congress MLA had disclosed that a ₹100 crore offer had been made to lure him. “Our Chief Minister recently mentioned in the legislative party meeting that the BJP is trying to entice some of our MLAs. This conspiracy has been hatched by Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, with attempts being made through the Raj Bhavan. However, these efforts will not succeed,” he asserted.

Allegations by MLA Ravi Ganiga: In Mandya, MLA Ravi Ganiga revealed to reporters that efforts are underway to purchase the allegiance of 50 Congress MLAs. “BJP brokers are contacting our MLAs daily, offering amounts ranging from ₹50 crore to ₹100 crore. Just a few days ago, some of our MLAs received calls regarding this matter. I was also contacted, and when someone told me that ₹100 crore was ready, I told them to keep it themselves. I was even considering informing the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Attempts to topple our government are ongoing,” he said.

Ganiga further accused BJP leaders B.L. Santosh, Shobha Karandlaje, and Pralhad Joshi, along with JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy, of being part of a gang attempting to destabilize the Congress government. “They have promised Modi that they will bring down our government, but we have a strong majority with 136 MLAs. Our MLAs will not fall for these inducements. We will release the audio of the person who made the offer at the appropriate time and submit the evidence to the IT and ED departments,” he added.

Complaint Filed Against Ravi Ganiga: Meanwhile, in Hubballi, the BJP has lashed out at Congress leaders, accusing them of making false allegations. On Sunday, BJP State General Secretary P. Rajeev filed a complaint against Congress MLA Ravi Ganiga at the Suburban Police Station. The complaint demands legal action against Ganiga for misusing the names of BJP leaders and falsely accusing them of offering ₹50 crore to ₹100 crore to each Congress MLA as part of a plot to topple the state government.
