Vitla: Police quarters retaining wall collapses during heavy rain

Team Udayavani, Aug 27, 2024, 5:35 PM IST

Vitla: The heavy rainfall since last night led to the collapse of the retaining wall of the police quarters in Ponnottu, Vitla, on Tuesday (August 27).

The retaining wall behind the police quarters, where the Vitla police personnel reside, collapsed into the yard of a nearby house owned by Ayesha Ponnottu, causing damage to the house. There is a risk of further soil erosion.

Seized vehicles, which are parked in the police quarters’ compound, are also at risk of sliding onto the house due to the unstable conditions.
