Mangaluru: Stone pelting incident at MLC Ivan D’Souza’s residence — Two arrested

Mangaluru: Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the recent stone-throwing incident at the residence of MLC Ivan D’Souza.
The accused have been identified as Bharat alias Yakshith (24) from Bolantoor Village, Bantwal Taluk and Dinesh Kurthamogeru (20) from Kolnadu Village, Bantwal Taluk.
Police said that Bharat is employed as a driver and has three prior assault cases against him. Dinesh works in finance collection at Kanyana and has one previous assault case registered against him.
According to police, the accused confessed to the crime during interrogation, citing anger over the statements made by Ivan D’Souza as their motive. They admitted to having impulsively decided to throw stones at the MLC’s house after having dinner at a hotel around 9:30 PM.
The investigation team meticulously reviewed CCTV footage, verified vehicle details, and gathered information from eyewitnesses to confirm the involvement of the accused. Further verification through CCTV footage and mobile records also corroborated their movements and actions on the night of the incident, police added.
