Udupi: Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Evening College, an affiliate of the prestigious Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College in Udupi, celebrates its second foundation day with great enthusiasm on September 2. The college, which began during the Amrit Mahotsav of MGM College, has now completed two years of service.

Since its inception, this new institution has successfully attracted students from the coastal and Malenadu regions through its academic and extracurricular activities. Alongside academic pursuits, students are also being trained in essential skills to face their future with greater confidence.

The college started in the academic year 2022-23 with only B.Com and BCA courses. This year, it has introduced a BBA course as well. Initially, the college enrolled 109 students; now, it has grown to accommodate more than 390 students from various districts across the state. Among them, 68 female students reside in the college hostel.

The college is the brainchild of T. Satish U. Pai, the President of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College Trust. He has taken special care to ensure that students receive various skill-based training alongside their education. Already, training in digital education, photography, videography, cake making, Yakshagana, personality development, and soft skills has been provided.
