Mangaluru: A woman fell ill while traveling on a bus, prompting the driver and conductor to divert the bus directly to a hospital on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred on the Mercy bus traveling from Vitla to Mangaluru. The woman suddenly collapsed in her seat. Noticing her condition, Saad, the bus driver, and Yaqub, the conductor—both members of the Rani Abbakka Bus Workers’ Association—immediately took the bus to Kanachur Hospital, where the woman was admitted.
This incident is reminiscent of similar cases in Udupi and Mangaluru, where buses were promptly diverted to hospitals to provide medical aid to passengers in need.
