Bengaluru: The Kamakshipalya police have made a significant breakthrough in the Renukaswamy murder case, which involved actor Darshan and his associates.

The police have successfully traced the motive behind the murder, gathering crucial evidence from Instagram related to messages sent by Renukaswamy to Pavitra Gowda. These messages, which included obscene photos, have confirmed that Renukaswamy had sent inappropriate content to Pavitra Gowda.

Earlier, the police had requested Instagram to provide information about Renukaswamy’s messages, along with his account details. This information has now been included in the charge sheet, according to sources.

Three suspects claim no involvement in the murder

In a surprising turn of events, three individuals—Nikhil Nayak, Keshavamurthy, and Karthik—who had earlier surrendered to the police claiming they killed Renukaswamy over a financial dispute, have now been found to have no direct involvement in the murder. However, the investigation revealed that they attempted to destroy evidence related to the case. Charges under sections for tampering with evidence and providing false information to the police will be filed against them.

Transfer request for Wilson Garden Nag and associates

In a related development, following the viral circulation of photos showing rowdy-sheeter Wilson Garden Nag and others receiving special treatment at Parappana Agrahara Jail along with actor Darshan, the prison authorities have requested their transfer to a different facility. A letter has been sent to the prison department’s head, seeking the relocation of Wilson Garden Nag and 20 of his associates. The transfer will be determined by the prison department based on court orders, according to Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand.
