Kinnigoli: A woman was seriously injured when an auto-rickshaw hit her while crossing the road at Ramanagar, Kinnigoli.

Chetana (35), a resident of Rajarathnapura, was crossing the road to fetch her daughter Vaibhavi, a 7th-grade student, from a nearby tuition center when the auto-rickshaw, coming from Kateel towards Kinnigoli, lost control while trying to avoid hitting her and overturned. Chetana was pinned under the vehicle.

In a heroic moment, Chetana’s daughter and a few locals rushed to the scene, lifted the auto, and rescued her. She was seriously injured and is now receiving treatment at a private hospital in Suratkal.

The driver and a few bystanders also sustained minor injuries. The incident was captured on CCTV.
