Former Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa has condemned the violence that erupted during a Ganesha procession in Nagamangala, Mandya district.

Eshwarappa accused individuals with a “Pakistan mindset” of inciting trouble during the religious event.

Eshwarappa claimed that stones were thrown and a fake bomb was hurled at the procession, which he called an act of “anti-national behavior.”

He alleged that the perpetrators caused the disturbance because they objected to the Ganesha procession passing in front of a mosque and the playing of drums and traditional instruments near the mosque.

He called for strong action against those responsible, urging the state government to take the matter seriously.

Eshwarappa further emphasized that people of all religions—Hindu, Muslim, and Christian—as well as members of all political parties should come together to condemn such acts.

He demanded that the accused be arrested and charged with treason, stressing the need for unity in opposing anti-national activities and ensuring such incidents do not recur in the state or the country.
