Mangaluru: CCB Police arrest two for trafficking drugs

The Mangalore CCB police have successfully arrested two individuals involved in the illegal transportation and sale of banned narcotic substance ganja, which was being brought from Odisha to Mangalore city.

In the operation, they seized 8.650 kg of ganja.

Acting on a tip-off regarding the sale and transport of ganja to Mangalore city from Odisha, the Mangalore CCB police located the suspects at Tachchani near Devipura Road, in the Talapady area, near the Karnataka-Kerala border. The suspects were caught in possession of the illegal narcotic substance while attempting to sell it to the public.

The arrested individuals are Bulubiro (24), son of Jayabiro, residing at Kirting New Street, Pindikki Post, Gajapati District, Odisha and Dil Dar Ali (28), son of Syed Ali, residing at #01, Chabbi Mandalr, RBC Road, Par Asharia Lal Gol, Murshidabad, West Bengal.

The police have seized 8.650 kg of ganja, worth Rs 2,60,000, along with two mobile phones from the suspects. The total value of the seized goods is estimated to be ₹3 lakh. A case has been registered at Ullal Police Station.

The accused had purchased the ganja in Odisha and traveled to Bengaluru by train, from where they took a bus to Mangaluru. Their intent was to sell the narcotics to the public and students in Karnataka and Kerala for illegal profit.
