Hubballi: ASI succumbs to injuries after iron rod falls on him at flyover construction site

The 59-year-old ASI Nabiraj Jayapal Dayannavar of the Hubballi Suburban Police Station passed away on Sunday morning (September 15) after succumbing to injuries sustained in an accident.
The incident occurred while he was on his way to work, where an iron rod from an ongoing flyover construction at the Old Court Circle fell on his head, causing severe injuries.
ASI Nabiraj, a resident of Rarajinagar in Sattur, Dharwad, was critically injured on Tuesday (September 10) when the iron rod struck him while he was riding his bike to duty. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, but later transferred to KIMS Hospital for further treatment due to the severity of his condition.
Despite being in the intensive care unit, he passed away at 4:00 AM on Sunday.
A case has been registered at the Suburban Police Station against over 19 individuals, including the managing director of the construction contractor company, in connection with the tragic incident.
