Mangaluru: Human chain formed on International Democracy Day

Mangaluru: A grand human chain event was inaugurated on Sunday, September 15, to mark the International Democracy Day celebrations in Dakshina Kannada district. The people held hands to form a chain from Mulki Hejamady Toll Gate to Sullia Sampaje Gate.
Thousands of students, and key figures from various organizations, and institutions participated, with the district’s formal session commencing at KPT Circuit House near Mangaluru.
The event began at 9:30 AM, with thousands of people taking part. Various cultural performances by art troupes will add vibrancy to the occasion.
Several dignitaries, including MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta, MLC Manjunath Bhandari, Mangaluru Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur, and District Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, were present at the event.
