Bantwal: Tension escalates as VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell arrives

Bantwal: Thousands of Hindu activists gathered at BC Road in Bantwal on the backdrop of a challenge made by former Bantwal Municipal President Muhammad Sharif to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sharan Pumpwell. The situation led to heightened security, with police enforcing tight measures to control the crowd.

Despite the heavy police presence, the activists surged forward, causing significant traffic congestion on the highway. Sharan Pumpwell also arrived at the scene, further intensifying the situation.

The challenge arose after Muhammad Sharif issued a viral voice message on social media, allegedly daring Sharan Pumpwell to confront him during the Milad-un-Nabi rally scheduled for September 16 in Kaikamba, BC Road.

Sharif’s message came in response to a statement by Pumpwell, who reportedly warned of possible consequences if the rally were attacked.

Given the sensitive nature of the issue, additional police forces have already been deployed in the area, and senior police officers have arrived at BC Road to monitor the situation closely.

Meanwhile, cases have been registered against Muhammad Sharif and municipal member Husainar at Bantwal Town Police Station for their provocative statements. Hindu leaders and organizations have expressed concern over Sharif’s audio message, accusing him of attempting to disrupt communal harmony. They have demanded swift legal action against those responsible for inciting tensions.
