Three individuals were injured after a violent altercation broke out between youths during the Ganesh idol immersion procession late Tuesday night (September 17) at Rani Chennamma Circle
The victims, identified as Darshan Patil, Praveen Gundya Gol, and Satish Pujari, sustained serious injuries, with stab wounds to the abdomen. They were rushed to the district hospital for treatment and are reported to be in critical condition.
The altercation allegedly began over a trivial issue, when someone’s foot was accidentally stepped on while dancing in the crowded procession.
The assailants fled the scene after the stabbing, but police quickly intervened and arrested three suspects. It is reported that the attackers were under the influence of drugs, specifically marijuana.
Officers from the APMC police station visited the district hospital to investigate the situation further.
