A man allegedly stabbed a garment shop owner for allegedly pressuring his girlfriend to marry him and acting inappropriately. The incident occurred in the Suddaguntepalya police station limits in Bengaluru.

The victim, Hitendra Kumar (58), a resident of Suddaguntepalya, survived the stabbing. The assailant, Siddu (28) from Belagavi, and his girlfriend, Kiran Nikam (24), have been arrested in connection with the attack.

Siddu and Kiran, both from Athani in Belagavi district, had been in a relationship for over five years. They moved to Bengaluru in June and were living together in a rented house near Tavarekere. Kiran worked at Hitendra Kumar’s garment store in Jayanagar 9th Block, while Siddu took on odd jobs.

Hitendra Kumar allegedly began pressuring Kiran to marry him, which led her to quit her job a month ago. However, he continued to send her romantic messages and videos, which eventually persuaded her to accept his advances, according to police sources.

Stabbing at the Park

On September 14, Hitendra Kumar called Kiran and asked her to meet him at KEB Park, to which she agreed. Around 9:30 PM, they met at the park, where Hitendra expressed his feelings for her. They spent some time together before heading home.

Later that night, Kiran’s boyfriend, Siddu, confronted her after seeing the messages from Hitendra on her phone. She admitted to meeting Hitendra at the park and explained that he had been pressuring her to marry him. This led to a heated argument between Siddu and Kiran.

Angered by the situation, Siddu hatched a plan to kill Hitendra. He asked Kiran to call Hitendra on September 15 and invite him to meet her again at KEB Park that night. Around 10 PM, Hitendra arrived at the park and sat on a stone bench, talking with Kiran.

Siddu, who was hiding behind the bench with a knife, waited for the right moment. When Hitendra began behaving inappropriately with Kiran, Siddu emerged and stabbed him in the neck, back, and abdomen. The couple then fled the scene.

Hitendra managed to call an acquaintance for help and was taken to the hospital. On September 16, he filed a complaint with the police. Following an investigation, the police arrested both Siddu and Kiran.
