A teenage girl has gone missing after leaving her home, claiming to visit a relative’s house. The girl’s mother, Girija, has filed a missing person report at the Bantwal Town Police Station.

Harshitha (18), a resident of Kudrebettu in Baltila village and the second daughter of Girija, has been missing since September 16. Harshitha, who had dropped out of school after completing her SSLC, was staying at home. On the night of September 16, after dinner, she informed her family that she was going to her sister Jayanti’s house nearby and would return the next morning. However, when she did not return, the family visited Jayanti’s house, only to learn that Harshitha had not arrived.

This is not the first time Harshitha has left without informing her family. On September 4, she had similarly gone missing but returned the next day, explaining that she had visited her friend Deepika’s house in B.C. Road. Assuming she might have gone there again, her family contacted Deepika, but Harshitha was not there either.

After waiting for her return and receiving no news, her mother Girija lodged a formal complaint at the Bantwal Town Police Station on September 19. The police are currently investigating the matter.
