Sleeper coach bus overturns in Hunsur: One dead, 11 injured

Hunsur: A private bus travelling from Bengaluru to Kerala overturned near Bannikuppe on the Mysuru-Hunsur highway, resulting in the death of one person and injuring 11 others. The accident occurred on Thursday night.
The deceased has been identified as Aman Franklin (22) from Ramanattukara village in Kozhikode district, Kerala.
Among the injured are 11 passengers, including a Malaysian national, who are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Mysuru. The driver fled the scene following the accident.
The private sleeper coach AC bus, carrying 30 passengers, was en route from Bengaluru to Calicut via Hunsur, Virajpet, and Manjeri, Kerala. Most passengers were fast asleep when the driver lost control near Bannikuppe Gate. The bus flipped three times before crashing into an electric pole.
Aman Franklin was thrown out of the bus through a window and was crushed under the vehicle, succumbing to severe injuries on the spot.
The injured were rescued by Bilikere police and local villagers and rushed to hospitals. Aman’s brother, Vinay Franklin, narrowly escaped the incident. The body was sent to Kerala after a post-mortem.
A case has been registered at Bilikere police station.
