A traffic ASI averted a potential tragedy near Shantinagar when he noticed a BMTC bus driver experiencing chest pain while driving. Acting swiftly, the ASI entered the bus, applied the handbrake, and prevented what could have been a major accident. His quick action has been widely appreciated by the public.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the Shantinagar junction, when ASI Raghukumar of Halasuru Gate Traffic Police noticed the BMTC bus moving slowly and suspiciously. Upon closer inspection, he saw that the driver was slumped over the steering wheel.
Without delay, ASI Raghukumar opened the bus door and, in a cinematic fashion, entered the vehicle. He applied the handbrake and brought the bus to a halt. He later sought assistance from ASI Prasanna Kumar from Ashoknagar Traffic Police, who was stationed at a nearby signal and took the driver to a nearby hospital in an auto-rickshaw.
More Than 30 Passengers Saved:
The bus was carrying over 30 passengers at the time. If ASI Raghukumar had not acted in time, the bus could have collided with other vehicles or crashed into the road divider, resulting in a serious accident. The presence of mind displayed by traffic policeman saved the lives of both the passengers and driver.
