Mangaluru: Legislative Council member B.K. Hariprasad has called for a Supreme Court judge-led investigation into the Arkavathy de-notification case. Speaking to the media in the city on Sunday, he expressed that it was insufficient for anyone to conduct the investigation casually. He emphasized the need for a probe led by a Supreme Court judge to uncover the irregularities of the past 25 years.
According to Hariprasad, such a detailed investigation would reveal the truth, irrespective of political affiliations. He noted that while BJP has been digging up issues from previous governments, a comprehensive investigation would bring everything into the open, including the role of various political figures.
Drawing a parallel with the Bofors scandal, Hariprasad remarked that despite it being discussed for over 30 years, no significant findings had come to light. He alleged that some wrongdoings have been legalized under BJP’s rule, both at the state and central levels. He reiterated the need for a thorough probe under a Supreme Court judge’s leadership to bring justice.
Responding to a question regarding the arrest of MLA Munirathna, Hariprasad sidestepped political accusations, stating that such issues were symptoms of a deeper malaise in the political system, dating back to experiments in Gujarat under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
