Geethartha Chinthane 43: God’s grace to those with divine wealth

The pleasure of the Lord is controlled, conscious, and cognitive. Humans, on the other hand, are not like that; their emotions are often uncontrollable. When we are happy, something beyond us tends to happen. Those who do not understand Sarvottama (the supreme excellence of God) will not attain excellence. Similarly, those who do not respect ideal men (mahatmas) will not become ideal themselves. Therefore, the Lord grants salvation to those who have knowledge of Him. The phrase “Bhagavajnadeva Moksha” signifies that salvation is granted through vows and devotion.
Even at the stage of Aparokshajnana (direct knowledge of God), one should continue to perform Nishkama karma (selfless action), much like continuing to study even after passing an exam. The only exception to this are those who have attained samadhi (the state of spiritual absorption). Arjuna, for instance, was an Aparokshajnani, and in addition, he was blessed with the vision of the Lord’s Vishwaroopa (universal form). This was due to his divine wealth, his spiritual merit.
The remembrance of God naturally comes to those with divine wealth. Even when delivering punishment, God does so with mercy. Punishing the guilty is beneficial for the righteous. If marks are given to those who haven’t written an exam, it would be unfair to those who have. In the same way, God’s mercy ensures that the righteous are never treated unjustly.
