Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, demanding his resignation over the controversial Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Vijayendra accused the CM of hypocrisy, claiming that despite the High Court’s verdict against him, Siddaramaiah continues to portray himself as innocent.

Vijayendra did not hold back in his criticism, stating, “CM Siddaramaiah claims he has done nothing wrong in the MUDA case. However, the court’s verdict clearly indicates that there is a prima facie case against him. While Siddaramaiah did not directly sign any documents, the court pointed out his involvement behind the scenes.”

The BJP leader also alleged that Siddaramaiah’s wife had benefitted illegally from the land allocations. “The court has stated that his wife was supposed to get only two 40×60 sites, but instead, she was allotted 14 sites, which is clearly against the law,” Vijayendra added.

“Hypocrisy at Its Peak,” Says Vijayendra
Continuing his tirade, Vijayendra said, “Despite this clear violation, CM Siddaramaiah still insists he has done nothing wrong. This is the height of hypocrisy.”

He further claimed that the Chief Minister is facing internal pressure within his own party. Referring to Siddaramaiah’s recent press briefing, Vijayendra remarked, “While Siddaramaiah confidently stated that he won’t resign, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar was seated beside him, looking serious. It seemed as if Shivakumar is ensuring that Siddaramaiah won’t quit, but the change of CM in the Congress government is inevitable.”

“The High Court in the MUDA case has stated that it is not possible for such a big scam to take place without the knowledge of CM Siddaramaiah. As per the law, the CM’s family should have got 4,600 square feet but allotment of Rs 56 crore worth of 14 sites to them is illegal and an investigation is needed,” Vijayendra underlined.

“CM Siddaramaiah is being hypocritical and is making allegations against the BJP. He alleged that the Raj Bhavan has been misused, on the other hand he has stated that he has done no wrong and there is no question of his resignation. Mr. CM Siddaramaiah, the High Court in its verdict has clearly stated how corruption, misuse of power has taken place and insisted on a probe. I will tell you to respect the verdict,” Vijayendra stated.

“You have got the sites which were supposed to be distributed to the poor and illegality has taken place. I appeal to you to set aside your obstinacy and tender resignation from the post,” he demanded.

Dharna in front of Gandhi Statue at Vidhana Soudha Tomorrow

A dharna will be held tomorrow in front of the Gandhi statue at Vidhana Soudha, demanding Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s immediate resignation,. The CM has claimed that he is ready for any investigation. The Mysuru Lokayukta SP has been ordered to conduct an investigation against him. An FIR must be filed immediately, and an investigation must begin. A fair investigation by the Lokayukta police is unlikely, which is why the case should be investigated by the CBI. If a CBI investigation is ordered, it will only enhance the CM’s honour, he stated.
