Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police sources have revealed a piece of important information regarding the Mahalakshmi murder case which shocked Bengaluru.
It has come to light that Mukti Ranjan, the prime suspect in the case was found dead in Odisha. He allegedly ended his life.
The maggot-infested body of Mahalakshmi of Nepal origin was discovered in her residence in Bengaluru on September 21.
According to police, the suspect fled after killing Mahalakshmi on the first floor of a three-storey house in the Vyalikaval area of Bengaluru. The body was chopped into more than 50 pieces and stuffed in the fridge.
The police registered a case and seized the body parts of the woman and launched an operation to trace the accused.
According to reports, the police team got wind that the suspect, Mukti Ranjan, was hiding in Odisha and went there to trace him. However, they reportedly found him dead, hanging from a tree in a deserted area near his house.
