Shivamogga: The ongoing debate surrounding the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scandal has led to heated exchanges between the Congress and BJP, with BJP MP B.Y. Raghavendra accusing the Congress of misusing the issue for political gain.
Addressing presspersons in Shivamogga, Raghavendra said, “When the MUDA scam is discussed, BJP leaders were unfairly targeted, with accusations of misusing the Governor’s office. The Congress claims the Governor’s office is being used as a BJP office, which is false.”
He also added that despite a Karnataka High Court ruling, Congress continues to make baseless arguments.
Raghavendra further alleged that FIRs were being filed against senior BJP leaders, including Nirmala Sitharaman, Nalin Kumar Kateel, and B.Y. Vijayendra, out of political vendetta.
“These FIRs are a tactic to divert public attention. Our leaders contested elections constitutionally, using bond papers, but Congress is intentionally misleading the public,” he said.
He further accused the Congress government of overstepping its authority since coming to power and warned that the people would soon teach them a lesson.
