Karkala: Fatal accident near Hosmaru claims four lives

A tragic accident occurred on Monday, September 30, near Hosmaru Pajegudde on the Karkala-Dharmasthala-Subrahmanya Highway, involving a mini truck and a motorcycle.

According to reports, the motorcycle was carrying a family of five — husband, wife, and their three children. Four of the family members on the bike lost their lives in the collision.

The deceased have been identified as Suresh Acharya (36), and his children Sumiksha (7), Sushmita (5), and Sushant (2). Suresh Acharya’s wife, Meenakshi (32), sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Karkala Government Hospital.

The family hailed from Kodapatya in Nallur village and were returning to Nallur from Venur when the accident occurred. Reports suggest the accident happened during an attempt to overtake another vehicle.
