Bantwal: Three injured in road mishap

Bantwal: A car lost control and fell into a roadside drain, injuring three people, including the driver, near Mannapu, close to Jakribettu, on the BC Road-Punjalakatte Highway on Monday evening.
The injured individuals, identified as Arun, Pramod, and another person named Arun, are residents of Kerala. The accident occurred as the vehicle was traveling from Chikkamagaluru to Kerala at high speed, causing the driver to lose control and crash into the drain.
The accident took place when the vehicle was traveling from Chikkamagaluru to Kerala at high speed on Monday, leaving the passengers with minor injuries, while the Alto car was completely damaged. Additionally, the compound wall of a local resident, Sanjeev Moolya, was damaged in the incident.
The trio are receiving outpatient treatment at a hospital.
Traffic police arrived at the scene and, upon questioning the driver, discovered that he had been driving under the influence of intoxicants. The driver’s reckless behavior was confirmed, leading to a “drunk and drive” case being registered, according to Traffic SI Sutesh.
