Karnataka Legislative Council Bye Election: BJP fields Kishor Kumar Botyadi

Mangaluru: The BJP has finalized its candidate for the Legislative Council bye-election for Dakshina Kannada Local Authorities’ constituency. The seat fell vacant after Kota Srinivas Poojary was elected as a Member of Parliament.
On Tuesday (October 1), the BJP Central Election Committee announced Kishor Kumar Botyadi (aka Kishor Kumar Puttur) as the party’s official candidate.
Kishor Kumar Botyadi, the General Secretary of Dakshina Kannada BJP, belongs to the Savita Samaj. He has previously served as the district president of the BJP Yuva Morcha and held key leadership roles within the party.
Several party leaders were eyeing the ticket for this seat. Notable names such as former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former minister Pramod Madhwaraj, and Dakshina Kannada BJP president Satish Kumpala were among the aspirants. However, the party chose Kishor Kumar Botyadi as its candidate.
The bye-election for the Dakshina Kannada Local Authorities’ constituency is scheduled to be held on October 21. The last date for filing nominations is October 3, and voting will take place from 8 AM to 4 PM on October 21. The counting of votes will occur on October 24.
