Udupi municipal corporation cautions against ‘fake’ raids

Udupi: Several incidents of fraudulent activities have come to light within the Udupi City Municipal limits where unauthorized individuals are reportedly collecting money in the name of business license inspections and plastic raids.
To counter these scams, the City Municipal authorities have urged local shop owners to allow inspections and licensing surveys only when officials and staff members present valid identification cards.
The municipal corporation has clarified that it is not responsible for any unauthorized collection of money or fraudulent activities carried out in its name. A public advisory has been issued, asking citizens to exercise caution and report any such fraudulent actions to the concerned authorities.
