Speaker UT Khader extends support for High Court Bench in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader informed that he will soon have a meeting with Chief Minister, the Law Minister, and the Chief Secretary to submit a proposal seeking the establishment of a High Court bench in Mangaluru.
On Friday, a delegation of members of the city’s lawyers and horata samiti met Khader to put forth their demand for the High Court bench in Mangaluru. Khader expressed his full support for the movement.
MP Promises Support
On Saturday, the horata samiti members also met Mangaluru MP Brijesh Chowta and submitted a memorandum who expressed his full cooperation in facilitating the establishment of the High Court bench in Mangaluru.
The horata samiti also sought support from educational institutions, including a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University, Prof. P.L. Dharma, and several college authorities.
The meeting was attended by the horata samiti’s convener, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Mangaluru Bar Association President H.V. Raghavendra, General Secretary Sridhar H., Treasurer Girish Shetty, former President Prithviraj Rai, senior advocate M.P. Noronha, Joint Secretary Jyothi, and senior member Sumana Sharan, among others.
