Belagavi: Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has dismissed the speculation regarding a change in the Chief Minister’s post, stating that it is nothing more than a rumor.
Addressing presperssons in Kittur, Gowda emphasized that senior leaders of the Congress party, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and the party’s National General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, have all clearly expressed their support for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. “In such a situation, the talk of a CM change is purely speculative,” Gowda stated.
He further added, “What individuals may attempt is their personal matter, but at the party level, there is no discussion or decision on any change.”
Gowda also clarified that he does not aspire to become Chief Minister. “The party has given me everything so far. Most importantly, I have received respect from everyone, including the party president. What more could I want? The people of my constituency have elected me as an MLA six times, and the Congress has made me a minister three times,” he said.
“I am currently the Revenue Minister, and there is enough work to do in this role. I hardly have enough time, and I am focused on my responsibilities,” Byre Gowda concluded.
