Mumtaz Ali Case: Three more accused arrested by CCB Police

Mangaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested three more suspects on Wednesday, October 9, in connection with the suicide case of businessman B M Mumtaz Ali, the brother of former MLA Mohiuddin Bawa.

The arrested individuals include Abdul Sattar, identified as the second key accused (A2) and the mastermind behind the case, along with Mustafa and Shafi, police said.

An FIR had earlier been filed against six individuals at the Kavoor police station in relation to the incident. The CCB had already arrested Ayesha alias Rehmat (A1) and her husband Shoaib (A5), along with Siraj. They have been remanded to judicial custody.

The police have registered the case under charges of blackmail for money and abetment to suicide, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
