Uppinangady: A new complaint has been lodged against Sachitha Rai in connection with a job scam that rocked Kasaragod district.

The scam, which involved promises of employment in exchange for crores of rupees, has now extended to Uppinangady.

Sachitha is accused of cheating her own friend, from whom she allegedly took Rs 13,11,600 under false promises of securing a job.

Rashmitha, the complainant, has filed a written complaint with the Uppinangady police. According to the complaint, Sachitha promised a job either in Kerala government department or at SBI Bank, convincing complainant to pay the amount. Of the total Rs 13,11,600, Rs 8,66,868 was reportedly transferred through bank accounts, while the remaining sum was paid via Google Pay.

Sachitha Rai, who was a college friend of Rashmitha at a Puttur college, is now married and works as a teacher in Badoor, Kasaragod. The complaint mentions that Sachitha used her husband’s political influence to convince Rashmitha that she could secure a government job.

The accused allegedly took the money in installments, citing various expenses needed to get the job, ultimately collecting over Rs 13 lakh.

Father’s Retirement Savings Lost

Rashmitha’s father, a retired employee of a corporation, had given the initial sum from his retirement funds to secure a bright future for his daughter. As Sachitha continued to build trust, the family kept paying more money. Now, after the scam has come to light, Rashmitha’s father has been devastated, with his health declining due to the stress caused by the incident.
