Belthangady: Youth drowns in river near Neriya

Belthangady: A man drowned after being swept away by the strong currents of the river.

The deceased has been identified as Shivakumar, a resident of Pittilu in Thotattadi village.

Shivakumar and his friends had gone to the river near an estate in Neriya village for fishing. However, during the evening, he went missing in the river. Despite efforts by locals to locate him, his body was recovered later that night.

A case regarding the incident has been registered at the Dharmasthala police station.
