Hunsur: Tragedy strikes while visiting hospital — 7-year-old girl dies after being hit by bike

Hunsur: A 7-year-old girl lost her life after being hit by a bike on the bypass road here on Sunday (October 13). Her father and the bike rider were seriously injured in the incident.

The deceased girl has been identified as Arovi (7), from Pakshirajapura village in Hunsur taluk.

Arovi had been suffering from fever, and her father Philip was walking her to Kaveri Hospital when a speeding bike, coming from Mysuru, hit both of them while they were crossing the road. Arovi sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. Her father and the bike rider were injured and admitted to the hospital.

The Hunsur town police arrived at the scene, conducted an investigation, and sent the body to the government hospital mortuary. The police ensured smooth traffic flow in the area, and a case has been registered at the city police station.

The Kaveri Super Multispeciality Hospital, located on the bypass road, sees a heavy footfall of pedestrians. Residents have expressed concerns about speeding vehicles in front of the hospital and have urged authorities to place security personnel to prevent accidents. The public has also demanded precautionary measures from the taluk administration.
