All India Oriental Conference to be held in Udupi on Oct 24 to 26

The All India Oriental Conference is set to take place from October 24 to 26 at the Rajangana of the Sri Krishna Math under the auspices of Paryaya Sri Puttige Matha and the blessings of Sri Sugunendra Swamiji.

The event will feature renowned scholars and ascetics, including Pejavara Swamiji, Vidyashreesha Swamiji, Subudhendratheerth Swamiji from Mantralaya, Baba Ramdev from Patanjali, and Acharya Balakrishna, among others.

Daily yoga and meditation sessions will be conducted under the guidance of Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishna from 6 AM to 7 AM over the three days.

Various seminars will take place simultaneously at the surrounding Ashtamathas and Sanskrit College, covering a total of 23 subjects including education, children’s literature, Kannada, Sanskrit, Pali, Urdu, yoga, and Ayurveda.

There will be discussions led by senior scholars on the topic of the Gavadgeeta, as well as plenary sessions on topics such as IKS (Indigenous Knowledge Systems).

The conference will also feature poetry readings by young poets, discussions by emerging scholars, and scholarly meetings with renowned senior experts.

Cultural programs include performances such as “Tadbhartam” by the famous Abhinava Nritya Academy and Yakshagana from Udupi.

Eighteen vice-chancellors from various universities across India will attend the conference, engaging in dialogue sessions. Additionally, prominent publishing houses will host a book exhibition and sale, featuring the launch of 25 new publications by esteemed scholars.

Over 2,000 distinguished scholars from various parts of India will participate in this significant conference.

Celebrating its 102nd anniversary, the All India Oriental Conference has been held every two years since its inception. This will be the 51st session, uniquely taking place in Udupi, marking the first time the conference is being hosted in South India, specifically in the land associated with Acharya Madhwa.

This event is described as a true celebration of knowledge, highlighting the importance of hosting such a significant conference in South India after several decades.

The conference is being organized with the collaboration of the Indian Vidwat Parishat from Bengaluru, Paryaya Sri Puttige Math, and the Central Sanskrit University in New Delhi. The event’s significance is underscored by its location in Karnataka, a pivotal area for scholarly discourse in the country.
