Udupi: Police seize illegal firecracker stockpile

Udupi: City police raided a firecraker shop located in the city and seized an illegal stockpile.

Police said they raided the premises of Cabral Gunhouse located near the girls’ pre-university college based on a tip-off about an illegal firecracker stockpile.

The team led by City Station Sub-Inspector Puneet found firecrackers and explosives stored without proper licensing.

The shop had illegally stored around 40 kg of firecrackers without taking precautionary measures. The hazardous materials were stored in a manner that posed a potential threat to human life.

The items were seized, and a case has been registered at the Udupi City Police Station.
