Beltangady: POCSO case filed against man for harassing schoolgirl

Beltangady: A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered at Venoor Police Station against a man who allegedly harassed a minor schoolgirl by following her and repeatedly asking for her phone number.
The incident occurred in Pullayi, a village in Kukkedi of Beltangady taluk.
The accused, Jumar (24), a resident of Sajipanadu in Bantwal taluk, works as a mechanic for grass-cutting machines. Over the past five days, he allegedly followed the girl and her relative, who were traveling to college with a neighboring student.
In addition to following them on his bike, the accused reportedly stopped and asked the girls if they would ride with him and demanded their phone numbers.
On October 15, at around 7:45 AM, when the girl was on her way to college, the accused allegedly followed her again, causing further distress by riding ahead, turning back, and approaching her.
Venoor Police have registered a POCSO case and are currently investigating the matter.
