Karkala: Car crashes into bridge at Ajekar, six injured

Ajekar: An Innova car traveling from Hebri towards Dharmasthala via Karkala lost control and crashed into the Otehalla Bridge near Guddeyagundi in Ajekar on the morning of October 20. Six people, including the driver, were injured in the accident.

The injured have been identified as Manjunath Gowda (28), Atmanand (24), Hanumanth Gowda (23), Halappa Gowda (24), Veerabhadra Gowda (28), and Basanagowda (27), all reportedly from Hubballi.

The car lost control while navigating a sharp turn on the bridge and crashed into its sidewall. The front portion of the vehicle was severely damaged in the collision. However, the airbags deployed and saved the passengers from serious harm.

Ajekar police arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. The investigation is ongoing.
