Mangaluru: Voting for the Legislative Council by-election, necessitated by the resignation of MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, took place on Monday, October 21. MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty cast his vote at the booth located in the Mangaluru City Corporation office.
Mayor Manoj Kumar and several members of the Mangaluru City Corporation were also present and cast their votes alongside the MLA.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharath Shetty expressed confidence that BJP candidate Kishore Kumar Botyadi would win the election with a significant margin. He noted the positive contributions of Kota Srinivas Poojary during his tenure as an MLA and minister, particularly highlighting his developmental efforts in the twin districts under the BJP-led government.
Dr. Shetty emphasized that Poojary prioritized the empowerment of local governance bodies, such as Gram Panchayats and Zilla Panchayats, by releasing substantial grants. His efforts to strengthen the Panchayat Raj system have resulted in strong support for the BJP among local representatives.
