Mangaluru: A clash broke out between the staff of a city bus and a service bus at Urvastore Junction on Sunday afternoon. A complaint was filed at the Urva police station, alleging that the conductor of the city bus verbally abused the driver and conductor of the service bus, and broke a side mirror of their bus.
On Sunday evening, at around 4:20 PM, driver Masood Ahmed of the service bus “Teena,” operating between Kinnigoli and Kateel, and conductor Hassan were on their regular trip and heading towards Kottara Chowki. At that time, a city bus named “Deedar” attempted to overtake their bus recklessly.
At around 4:30 PM, while the service bus was dropping off passengers at Urvastore Junction, the city bus overtook them again and stopped abruptly in front of them, blocking their way. The city bus driver, Chetan, and conductor, Mohammed Hussain, got off the bus and allegedly verbally abused Hassan in front of the public using foul language.
Following the argument, the conductor of the city bus reportedly broke the right-side mirror and side glass of the service bus, causing damage estimated at around Rs 4,000.
