Youth drowns at Mukka beach

Mangaluru: A 21-year-old youth drowned in the waters off Mukka Red Rock beach after being swept by a wave on October 22 night.

The victim, Pranjal (21), is the son of Krishna Kumar Somayaji, a resident of B.C. Road in Bantwal Taluk.

Pranjal had gone to the beach with around eight friends. They had ventured into the waters, when he was swept away by a wave. His companions managed to reach the shore safely.

Following the incident, Pranjal’s family lodged a complaint at the Surathkal police station, which has registered a case and initiated further investigations.
