In a disturbing incident from Ajekaru in Karkala Taluk, a woman and her paramour allegedly poisoned her husband, leading to his death
The deceased Balkrishna (44) had been suffering from fever, vomiting, and other symptoms for nearly 25 days.
He initially sought treatment at a private hospital in Karkala and was subsequently transferred to hospitals in Manipal (KMC), Bengaluru (NIMHANS, Victoria), and Mangaluru (Wenlock) for further treatment. Despite extensive treatment efforts, Balkrishna passed away on October 20.
Following his death, suspicions were raised by his brother, Ramakrishna, who filed a complaint at the Ajekaru Police Station. In his report, he expressed concern over the involvement of Balkrishna’s wife, Pratima, and her alleged lover, Dilip Hegde.
Reportedly, Pratima confessed to her brother Sandeep that she and Dilip had mixed poison into her husband’s food. Both Pratima and Dilip have since been taken into custody by Ajekaru Police and further investigation is ongoing.
