Ballari: During the by-election nomination filing event for BJP candidate Bangaru Hanumanthu in Sandur, former ministers Janardhana Reddy and B. Sriramulu displayed unity by appearing together.

Speaking on the occasion, Janardhana Reddy remarked, “I have been traveling around the Sandur constituency for the past week. People are joining us voluntarily, and the numbers keep growing. Many statements by Congress have proven hollow. When I was in charge of Ballari, I undertook a 250-crore project to build concrete roads, while Congress-built roads have deteriorated. Funds from DMF and CSR have been misused,” he alleged.

He added, “My friend Sriramulu and I will campaign together. Tukaram may call himself a ‘king,’ but Sriramulu, who rose from a humble background, never claims such titles. Tukaram is the ‘loot king’,” Reddy quipped.

Referring to the alleged misuse of funds from the Valmiki Corporation during the Lok Sabha elections, Reddy claimed that amounts were distributed across the Ballari, Kampli, Sandur, and Kudligi constituencies, which have all been documented in charge sheets. “This will be Tukaram’s last election,” he declared. “People are rallying for BJP voluntarily.”

No Discontent: Sriramulu

Speaking to reporters, former minister B. Sriramulu dismissed rumors of discontent, stating, “I am here and will campaign actively. I intended to join after the nomination process, which is why I’m here now.”

Referring to Congress’s alleged fund misuse, he added, “Around Rs 21 crore from the Valmiki Corporation was misused in the Lok Sabha elections. The ED charge sheets mention specifics of fund usage, and even Ballari MLA Nagendra and his PA Vijay have documented the misuse in their phones. They recorded how much was given to whom. Congress misled Sandur voters with false promises. Let’s see if they can win this time,” Sriramulu expressed confidently.
