Mulki: A passenger traveling from Bengaluru to Murudeshwar was found unresponsive on a train near Mulki. Railway police took the passenger to a hospital in Udupi, where doctors declared him dead. The case has been transferred to the Mulki Police Station for further investigation.
Mulki police traveled to Udupi and identified the deceased through a tailor’s label on his shirt collar. The individual was identified as Mouzam (35), son of Ameer Khan, a resident of Kumarapete, Chikkaballapur district.
When family members arrived in Udupi to identify the body, they noticed marks on his neck, suggesting a possible strangulation. Mouzam’s uncle, Arif Ullah Khan, has since filed a complaint, suspecting foul play.
Last location detected in Sakleshpur
The deceased’s mobile phone’s last location was traced to a tower in Sakleshpur, leading to suspicions that he may have been targeted in that area. Police suspect robbery as a motive, as his money bag and mobile phone appear to be missing.
Mulki Inspector Vidhyadhar Bykerikar has registered the case and initiated further investigation as per the directives of higher authorities.
