Mangaluru: PM Modi lays foundation stone for new ICU unit at Wenlock hospital via video conference

Mangaluru: Under the PM-ABHIM (Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission) initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for a new 50-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Wenlock Hospital on October 29.

During the Ayurvedic Day and Dhanvantari Jayanti event held in New Delhi on Tuesday, PM Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for multiple healthcare infrastructure projects across the nation, totaling an investment of ₹12,850 crore, including the ₹23.75 crore ICU unit at Wenlock Hospital.

A special program was organized at the IMA Hall in Attavar, Mangaluru, where MP K. Brijesh Chowta unveiled the project plaque. MLCs Ivan D’Souza and K. Pratap Simha Nayak, Mayor Manoj Kumar, Deputy Mayor Bhanumathi, MUDA Chairman Sadashiva Ullal, District Commissioner Mullai Mugilan, and Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr. Anand K. were also present at the event.
