A 32-year-old youth was killed in a road mishap after he lost control of his motorcycle near Komme on Friday, November 1 night.
The deceased Mahendra, son of Chandra Marakala, was returning home after celebrating the Diwali festival at a relative’s house in Thekkatte.
Mahendra lost control of his motorcycle while navigating a curve on the Thekkatte-Koome road and his bike veered off the road and fell into a nearby paddy field. The recent heavy rains had flooded the area, and reports indicate that he suffocated in the water before help could arrive.
Authorities noted that the continuous rain over the past two days had led to significant flooding in the agricultural fields, which contributed to the unfortunate accident. Kota police arrived at the scene and filed a case.
The victim’s body was shifted to the Kundapura Government Hospital with the assistance of an ambulance provided by local resident Nagaraja, a member of the Jeevan Mithra organization.
