Bengaluru: Karwar MLA Satish Sail, along with businessmen Swastik Nagaraj, KVN Govindaraj, and Chetan Shah, have filed separate petitions in the Karnataka High Court seeking to overturn the sentence and fine imposed by the Special Court for Representatives in connection with illegal iron ore export and sale from Belekeri Port. Following the petitions, the High Court issued a notice to the CBI on Thursday.
The High Court bench, led by Justice M. Nagaprasanna, reviewed six separate petitions from Messrs. Mallikarjun Shipping Pvt. Ltd. and its owner, MLA Satish Sail. Additionally, individual petitions from Swastik Nagaraj, KVN Govindaraj, Chetan Shah, Ashapura Minechem Ltd., and Sree Lakshmi Venkateshwara Minerals were also examined during the session.
The court scheduled the hearing of two related cases in the same matter for November 13. It has deferred its judgment, indicating that a unified ruling will be issued for all cases on the next hearing date.
