The India Post and IPPB will provide doorstep delivery of services to aged pensioners to help them submit their digital life certificates (DLCs) to continue receiving their pension.

As per the government notice, the window for submission of DLCs for those under 80 is between November 1-30, 2024 while for those over the age of 80 would begin from October 1 until the deadline of November 30.

Pensioners can submit their Digital Life Certificate from any location using their Aadhaar-linked biometric fingerprints. For added convenience, the postal department has set up services allowing postmen to visit pensioners at their doorstep to facilitate Digital Life Certificate submissions. Pensioners do not need to provide any documents, and the certificate will be directly sent to the pension office through the software and a confirmation message will be sent to their mobile phones.

In 2023-24, the Mangaluru division of India Post successfully provided this service to 4,279 pensioners. People have to pay a fee of Rs 70 to avail the doorstep service which would save travel time and effort for pensioners.

For assistance, pensioners can contact their local post office or email  [email protected] , said M. Sudhakar Mallya, Senior Postal Superintendent, Mangaluru Division.
