Hunsur: Head-on collision between cars leaves one dead, five injured

One person was killed and five others sustained injuries following a head-on collision between two cars near the Jadaganakoppalu Gate on the highway here on Saturday, November 9.
The deceased has been identified as Sanjay (38), a resident of Saraswatipuram. His friends, Naveen, Harish, Nitin, and Ramegowda from Ramapatna, sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals in Mysuru. The driver of the other car was also critically injured.
Incident Details: Sanjay and his friends were returning from a birthday celebration at Hosalu Maramma Temple near Bilikere when a car approaching from the Hunsur side collided with their vehicle near Jadaganakoppalu Gate. Both vehicles were severely damaged due to the impact of the collision. Passersby rushed to help and transported Sanjay to a Mysuru hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Bilkere Station police personnel arrived at the scene. They helped transport the injured to hospitals and cleared the roadway to facilitate smooth traffic flow.
The accident caused temporary disruption on the highway as vehicles lined up due to the blockage.
