Panapila Jaya-Vijaya Jodukere Kambala: Here are the results

The Kambala season in coastal Karnataka kicked off with excitement as the 15th annual Panapila Kambala, featuring the famed “Jaya-Vijaya” Jodukere kambala, took place on Saturday, November 9. The event, which saw participation from 164 pairs of buffaloes, concluded successfully on Sunday morning.
This year, the Panapila Kambala focused on junior categories only, with fierce competition among young buffaloes in the Negilu Junior, Hagga Junior, and Sub-Junior divisions. In the Negilu Junior category, 51 pairs of buffaloes competed, while the Hagga Junior division saw 21 pairs, and the Sub-Junior division had 92 pairs.

– Negilu Junior Category:
– First Place: Mulki Chitrapu Sanadamane, owned by Ambika Ravindra Poojari A
– Jockey: Vandith Shetty from Bambranbail
– Second Place: Panolibail Bollayi, owned by Chetan Chandappa Poojari
– Jockey: Sukesh Poojari from Padu Santuru
– Sub-Junior Category:
– First Place: Sri Swamidham, owned by Holekattu Kumbashi
– Jockey: Manjunath Gowda from Byndoor
– Second Place: Moodaru Achchottu, owned by Roshan Ranjith Fernandes A
– Jockey: Gautham Gowda from Kakyapadavu
The event was filled with traditional fervor, showcasing the dedication and competitive spirit of the local buffalo owners and jockeys as the region’s Kambala season got underway.
